A House Divided

DNC Kicks Off in Chaos

While unhappy Bernie Sanders supporters surrounded the kickoff of the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia at a safe distance of four miles. Inside the police-protected, barbed wire perimeter, protesters booed each time Hillary’s name was mentioned.  As the crowd grew ever more boisterous, in typical leftist fashion, the new DNC chair resorted to PC name calling and verbally warned the crowd of “persecution” and “xenophobia.”

Not surprisingly, Michelle Obama stayed on point with the tired and angry rhetoric that typifies the left when she spoke in her keynote address. Rather than speaking of the honor bestowed on her as the First Lady after eight years in the White House, she used her platform to once again remind Americans of their slave history and her blackness. “That is the story of this country, the story that has brought me to this stage tonight, the story of generations of people who felt the lash of bondage, the shame of servitude, the sting of segregation, but who kept on striving and hoping and doing what needed to be done so that today I wake up every morning in a house that was built by slaves.”

The Obama’s have created a legacy of racial division not seen in this country since the dismantling of Jim Crow. And rather predictably, the First Lady squandered her opportunity to speak healing to a divided house and opted to use her time at the podium to stir the pot of white guilt and the misguided Black Lives Matter supporters.

Although Michelle didn’t actually mention gun control in her speech, she went on to paint a visual picture of how much guns scare her in this bit of double speak: “Obama said she remembered when Sasha and Malia were just ‘bubbly girls,’ not the ‘poised young women’ they are now. She shared a memory of her daughters driving away for the first time in black SUVs surrounded by big men with guns. ‘And I saw their little faces pressed up against the window, and the only thing I could think was “What have we done?”‘ she said.  Oh those terrible gun toting white men protecting the first family. I shudder to even think.

Much of the remainder of her speech was about children. As if the federally owned indoctrination program that is carried out in classrooms every day is not enough mind control over American children, Michelle reminded attendees that our children are their children: “And make no mistake about it, this November when we go to the polls, that is what we’re deciding. Not Democrat or Republican, not left or right. No, in this election, every election, it’s about who will have the power to shape our children for the next four or eight years of their lives,’“ She also repeated one of Hillary’s more well known and controversial quotes that it takes a village to raise a child.

Wrong, wrong, wrong. When I go to the polls, I am voting for a leader of my nation, not to give a bureaucrat the “power” to shape our children.  The quote often attributed to Aristotle or Jesuit Catholic priests, “Give me a child until he is seven and I will give you the man,” has always been the goal of the left and it is clear that it has worked when you look at the belief system of the millennials. No, Hillary didn’t give us Head Start because she cares about your children, Hillary believes in the power of indoctrination.

So while the DNC controlled press lauded Mrs. Obama’s speech, I found it disappointing, predictable, and lackluster. And like many of my fellow American Democrats, I am appalled at the fascists treatment of protesters and the free press who were there to protest the nomination of Hilary for president. Not only did the DNC steal their chance to make their vote count in the primary, they stole their chance to protest. Welcome to Amerika.
