Domestic Enemies

It's Time to Tame the Tiger

The hand wringing hysteria of the temporary immigration ban reached a fever pitch yesterday when Trump fired acting U.S. Attorney General Sally Yates, who refused to enforce the ban, and issued his ultimatum through White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer to get with the program or get out. I couldn’t be more thrilled. I am thrilled that we have a President who is not capitulating to liberal movie stars, the liberal corporate-run media, or to the special snowflakes who can’t see past the propaganda they have been saturated in since elementary school.

Yates’ absolute disregard for the will of the people, who overwhelmingly support the temporary ban, and the President’s right to issue such a ban acting on our behest, is appallingly arrogant and reckless. It appears that Trump is prepared to meet the Obama holdovers and deep state adherents head on with tactics they understand—absolute authority. No one is more authoritarian than the progressive left. Yates stance against protecting our borders violated her oath of office, that is, “I will perform work of national importance under civil direction when required by law.”

I hereby declare, on oath, that I absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign prince, potentate, state, or sovereignty of whom or which I have heretofore been a subject or citizen; that I will support and defend the Constitution and laws of the United States of America against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I will bear arms on behalf of the United States when required by the law; that I will perform noncombatant service in the Armed Forces of the United States when required by the law; that I will perform work of national importance under civilian direction when required by the law; and that I take this obligation freely without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; so help me God.

Washington liberal insiders cannot be left to simmer on the stove like a pot of day old stew, particularly when there is a contentious media seeking to turn up the heat and stoke the flames of dissent at every point, which brings me to my point. Like Yates and the simmering pot of liberals left to keep warm, the level of media sedition is quickly reaching a boiling point and will have to be dealt with.

Sedition is the crime of revolting or inciting revolt against government. However, because of the protection afforded free speech under the First Amendment, prosecutions for sedition are rare. Nevertheless, sedition remains a crime in the United States under 18 U.S.C.A. § 2384 (2000), a federal statute that punishes seditious conspiracy, and 18 U.S.C.A. § 2385 (2000), which outlaws advocating the overthrow of the federal government by force. Generally, a person may be punished for sedition only when he or she makes statements that create a Clear and Present Danger to rights that the government may lawfully protect (Schenck v. United States, 249 U.S. 47, 39 S. Ct. 247, 63 L. Ed. 470 [1919]).

The last thing we want is a government in which we cannot speak out against, but the level of calls for Trump’s assassination, violent “protests,” outright falsehoods, and Russian conspiracy being perpetuated by the media to undermine the the will of the American people and present administration does present a “clear and present danger.” I am less interested in prosecuting the Madonna’s and Zuckerberg’s of our nation than the media that is conspiring and stoking the unprecedented and irresponsible levels of hate:

  • Atlanta Jewish Times: newspaper calls for the assassination of President Trump
  • Gawker: Israel should consider assassinating President Trump
  • New York Times: Sunday Columnist calls for assassinating President Trump
  • CNN: Talks of Trump assassination

The list is endless and requires us to ask, is it just irresponsible reporting or is it a conspiracy to incite a coup? I think it’s the latter and I don’t think prosecuting the players violates the First Amendment tightrope:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

A simple parsing of this language reveals that a.) the demonstrations have been violent and personal property destroyed; b.) Congress has not passed a law abridging freedom of speech or to petition the government; and c.) They are not peaceably assembling when they are sending Trump supporters to the hospital. All of which leads us full circle back to the sedition issue.

Media accountability, a slippery eel of an edict if ever there was one, seems to have gone off the rails. The five mainstream media outlets controlling what is in print and aired over cable are all corporate entities, which are immune to many civil remedies not afforded individuals, and of which I am not qualified to speak on. Short of serving up justice under sedition, the best we can hope for is to deprive them of their power and reach, which begs the question, how do we starve behemoth?

First, we must not lose sight of the fact that despite behemoth’s unprecedented levels of  control over the media and its outright deceit throughout its coverage of the presidential campaign, Trump won. This is a victory that blindsided them, albeit it may not feel like much of a victory due to the level of daily government warfare and civil unrest the media is continuing to stoke. The big players in journalism hate nationalism, individualism, freedom, and Trump—and they hate you, too, you racist, homophobic, misogynist bigot. Their reach has already been ham strung, they are just too ignorant to know it. Their hysterical power behind the nightly news desks has been bridled simply because of the meager number of people who tune in to watch and listen. Those in the know have long abandoned the shrill, preachy corporately owned, globally controlled media.

While I think calling for the prosecution of the more egregious calls of assassination are going to become the tipping point for the unchecked media sedition and meltdown of the left, we must continue to strive for a free, alternative press that reports on facts rather than stokes the flames of hysteria. The information war is real and we must not grow weary of fighting the inane name-calling, trolling, fake news, and criminal activities of the left.

Starving behemoth of their audience share and giving rise to voices not given their point of view by a globally driven media is just one battle won. We can take strength in knowing that millennials don’t know who the talking heads are on CNN and CBS, but they do know who Milo is. Like Madonna, no last name necessary. But they are coming after us free thinkers on our keyboards. Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube, are snuffing out conservative accounts and news agencies daily.

There is a very real battle to see who will hold the reigns of power, but what is disturbing is to see the uncivil and illegal acts of a minority believe they can circumvent the will of the American people who voted for Trump and support the ban to secure our nation’s border, such as Yates and others of her elk. So ride, Sally ride.
